New Staff Bank Contract Win!

We are delighted to announce a new Staff Bank contract win for Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust

This is our first new contract via the NHS Flexible Resource Pool Framework (RM6158), since its transition in January from the Crown Commercial Service to the new NHS Workforce Alliance portfolio.

Through it, we intend to build a bespoke blueprint for Staff Bank best practice in the community and healthcare sectors.

Starting in the summer months, we will be using our expertise and proven processes to transform bank operations across all staffing groups, working proudly in partnership with staffing teams across London’s largest community healthcare organisation.

The Trust appointed Litmus following a competitive procurement process which considered both service quality and price, with input from a range of stakeholders across different staff groups and care settings.

Our proven track record

During the past year, despite the ongoing pandemic, we achieved average Staff Bank fill rates of 99%, with an average cost saving per bank of £1.5 million.

The key to our success lies in our people-led strategy, with our bank teams’ adding a ‘human’ factor. We find that regular contact and support for bank workers drives much higher levels of engagement and helps to optimise resource utilisation, keeping everyone actively involved.  Our tried-and-tested demand management processes are also proven to reduce agency costs, augmented with a specific focus on identifying permanent vacancy gaps and working collaboratively to fill them.

An opportunity to redesign Staff Bank best practice in the community sector

With Covid-19-related pressures driving staff attrition across the acute sector, interest in community work is growing rapidly.  The recent shift to more virtual service delivery across community settings also means that historic challenges associated with engaging workforces and leveraging technology no longer present the same barriers.

On that basis we see this contract as an exciting opportunity to combine new technology innovation with our proven expertise and redesign Staff Bank Best Practice in the community sector.

We look forward to sharing more news in due course.
